An entirely 3D printed exhibition stand for EuroShop 2026

UPM Group created an entirely 3D printed exhibition stand for EuroShop 2026, the world’s leading international trade fair for the retail industry. The stand featured fully 3D-printed architectural elements and custom furniture.

Covering an area of approximately 100 m², the installation was designed to deliver a strong visual impact while showcasing the potential of large-scale additive manufacturing.

The project was carried out through the collaboration between UPM Group’s production facilities in Modena and London, leveraging WASP’s 3D printing technologies available at both manufacturing hubs to optimize production time, logistics, and manufacturing capacity

From prototyping to final production in one month

The entire process, from prototyping to final production, took approximately one and a half months, thanks to the distribution of activities between the production facilities in Modena and London. This approach significantly increased production capacity while ensuring the project was completed within the required timeframe.

Production was carried out using large-format 3D printing with KUKA robotic arms equipped with WASP HDP XL and WASP HDP XXL extruders. This setup enabled the manufacture of large-scale components with high structural strength and exceptional design freedom.

The stand was produced using UV-stabilized PETG-GF 20%, a glass fiber-reinforced material certified as flame-retardant, making it particularly suitable for exhibition and fit-out applications.

Functional elements seamlessly integrated into the design through 3D printing

The main design challenge was to create an exhibition stand characterized by organic, flowing forms while ensuring the seamless integration of all functional elements.

The structures were designed to incorporate and conceal various components, including signage, LED walls recessed into the walls, and other technological systems, without compromising the visual continuity of the overall design.

In addition to the architectural structures, several custom-designed furniture elements were developed and produced, including:

  • 3D-printed sofas
  • Stools
  • A suspended Möbius strip installation integrated into the truss structure
  • Decorative and functional components perfectly aligned with the stand’s design language
