Formnext 2025 | We Love to Innovate

From November 18 to 21, 2025, WASP will participate in Formnext, the leading international event for additive manufacturing and 3D printing, held at the Frankfurt Exhibition Center.
What you will find at our Stand | Hall 12.1 Stand B101

Universal Control for WASP Extruders on Robotic Arms | Live Printing with CEREBRO & Introduction of PENELOPE for Robotic Printing and Milling
Since day one, WASP’s distinctive strength in the AM sector has always been its great versatility and wide technology portfolio, spanning from our Architectural line with the internationally commercialized Crane WASP, to the LDM line for ceramic 3D printing, and the Industrial line for thermoplastic pellets and filaments. The combination of these technologies is now embodied in the WASP Robotic Arm line, powered by CEREBRO: our integration system for robotic arms and extruders, making it possible to master our LDM and FGF extrusion technologies with a single setup, seamlessly switching between them.
This year, you’ll be able to see CEREBRO and our robotic setup in action: the WASP Extruder HDP and the WASP Extruder LDM XL, connected to the Continuous Feeding System, mounted on two ABB collaborative robots, working to print ceramic and pellet materials.
Additionally, the WASP Extruder HDP XXL, introduced for the first time last year as WASP’s new extruder for large-scale 3D printing with robotic arms, will now feature our upcoming robotic milling system: PENELOPE. This system enables precise finishing of printed surfaces, allowing for the removal of 3D-printed layers or the addition of new textures.

WASP’s most accessible large-scale pellet 3D printer yet | WASP CUBO HDP
This year at Formnext, we’re thrilled to present a new technology developed with the goal of providing a reliable, cost-effective solution that could set a new standard for accessible, large-scale pellet 3D printing: the WASP CUBO HDP.
Starting at €34,900, it is designed to be a cost-effective technology tailored to the needs of the design industry, capable of printing large-scale objects using fully recyclable materials such as PLA and PETG.
It’s a compact, ready-to-use machine that brings together years of experience and technological innovation. We designed this printer inspired by four key values: simplicity, efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. Entirely designed and manufactured in Italy in our laboratories, the WASP CUBO HDP is built to ensure maximum productivity and versatility, even with complex materials and in demanding production environments. With a print volume of 120 x 120 x 120 cm, it is ideal for producing large-scale pieces and finished products, making it a valuable asset for the manufacturing and design industries.
With low power consumption (with an average power consumption of 450 W and a maximum power-on load of 1 kW), efficient powder recycling, and the ability to print with microplastics and shredded plastics, the machine is a truly sustainable tool that can be utilized for environmentally friendly production.

RIGENERA 3D: The 3D Print Recycling Station
Presented for the first time at Formnext 2024, RIGENERA 3D is WASP’s 3D Print Recycling Station where disposed objects and faulty pieces are collected, shredded, and reprinted into new products, giving new life to waste.
Unlike traditional extruders that only work with pellets and can be damaged by metal, our HDP (High-Definition Pellet) extruders are redesigned to accept shredded plastic in various shapes and sizes.
The extruders and 3D printers in WASP’s pellet line are all backward compatible with RIGENERA, allowing for updates and promoting a sustainable production cycle while reducing waste through recycling.
The system consists of a series of tools that, when used together, allow you to manage the entire recycling process from start to finish. The working principle can be summarized in four main steps:
- Sort your waste
- Shred
- Dehumidify
- 3D Print
Thanks to this process, waste materials can be shredded and transformed into new, functional products. The RIGENERA 3D Setup will be displayed at Formnext, including:
- WASP Shredder
- WASP Rotor Dehumidifier
- WASP CUBO HDP

The Construction 3D Printer, Now Available Worldwide | Crane WASP
First presented in 2018 with the creation of Gaia, the world’s first 3D-printed construction made from earth, Crane WASP has since evolved and improved, becoming a fully operational, commercialized tool worldwide. Today, the machine is used by multiple clients and collaborators around the globe, who operate it independently to create their projects.
Among the applications created this year with the machine are Aki Hamada Architect’s 3D-printed earthen facility for Expo 2025 in Osaka, as well as Lib Work’s first fully operational 3D-printed residential earthen house, the Lib Earth House Model B.
To meet different market demands, the Crane now also comes in a smaller scale: the Stand-Alone Crane WASP, making it much more accessible for printing in indoor and enclosed areas and perfectly suited for applications such as urban furniture and infrastructure.
The Stand-Alone Crane WASP will be showcased at the event, alongside a 3D-printed sample of one of the walls of Itaca: the first 3D-printed self-sufficient farm, currently in the final stages of completion at WASP’s newly announced open-air laboratory, Shamballa, located in the hills of Northern Italy.

Automated Serial Production of Customized Ceramic Pieces | WASP 40100 Production
With WASP 40100 Production, our Digital Clay Factory for customized, automated 3D ceramic printing, clay 3D printing has reached new levels of productivity, making fully automated ceramic production a reality.
This is made possible by a combination of three technologies: WASP 40100 LDM, CFS (Continuous Feeding System), and APS (Automated Production System). The APS enables the printing of ceramic artifacts in series, automatically replacing the used printing plate with a new one in a matter of seconds. Simultaneously, the CFS ensures a continuous supply of degassed material that can be refilled at any time.
With WASP 40100 Production, you can produce hundreds of copies a day of your own sets of vases, tiles, facades, design objects, and many other applications.

We look forward to welcoming you at Stand B101, Hall 12.1, Messe Frankfurt.

Where Innovation Lives: WASP’s Headquarters and Vision
Since 2012, we have been designing, producing, and distributing our Made in Italy 3D printers worldwide. The wide range of WASP 3D printers has been developed to meet essential human needs: food, housing, health, energy, work, art, and culture. Our core mission is to deliver tangible benefits to people through technological innovation and research.
Headquartered in Massa Lombarda (Ravenna, Italy), our facility serves as the central hub for innovation, research, and production. All design and engineering processes are carried out in-house, along with the manufacturing of our machines. The site also hosts indoor and outdoor laboratories dedicated to advanced research in sustainable architectural solutions.
Starting in 2026, we will inaugurate a new open-air 3D printing laboratory for sustainable living, located just 20 minutes from our main headquarters. This new space, called Shamballa, spans eight hectares in the hills of Northern Italy. It is envisioned as a place where technological research, sustainable production, and shared experiences come together to shape the future of living.
