“A new model where everything can be produced by yourself, where there is the chance of not depending on some unsurmountable entity that holds the productive monopoly. Our research is focused on the common welfare and shared knowledge. It is not necessary to be great to have great topics, our big goals are the sense of our work.”

Maker Economy

House, Work and Food, Health, are what a man need to live.
3D printing allows to find some new shared solutions for each one of these topics. The Maker Economy model can be exported everywhere, but, more than in our society, it could work where it doesn’t exist a productive fabric and a net of working infrastructures. It is a sustainable development that feed itself and doesn’t cause logistic problems.

Maker Economy

International valuation predict a fast grow of low price houses requests by 2030 for more than 4 billion people with an income under 3.000 dollars per year. Most of them won’t be able to spend more than 10% of the income per year to fulfill the need of a house. To satisfy this request the United Nations value that in the next 15 years there will be a daily need of 100.000 housing units. Moreover, the grown population will need to feed adequately, even in those countries where the climatic conditions are hostile to cultivation or where there are important disadvantages.

  • In balance between utopia and scientific pragmatism we developed the model of a village which fits these necessities.
  • A printed house with a cost that tends to zero made with local materials is put side by side to a vertical 3D printed garden, where hydroponic colture can be realized.
  • Everybody should cultivate everywhere and get what they need. To make it possible it needs to reduce the cultivation space, the amount of water needed and the chance of atmospherical or animal attacks to increase production. For this reason we choosed hydroponic colture, which consents to get a harvest even where the ground is unusable, with an amount of water that is minimal compared to the traditional colture.
  • The third element of the village is a lab, in which there are compact 3D printers to realize every kind of production and work.
